Professor dies of heart attack  

Dr. Charles W. Dobson, 41, of 8073 Forest Lake Drive , assistant professor of psychology at Youngstown State University , died of a heart attack Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center after being stricken at his home.  

Dr. Dobson was born July 12, 1945, in Salt Lake City , a son of Donald D. and Carolyn Van Anda Dobson, coming to Youngstown in 1983 from Rock Island , Ill. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Stanford University in 1967, his master's in psychology from Humboldt State University in 1969, and a PhD in psychology from the University of California at Riverside in 1973.  

He had taught at McGill University in Montreal from 1973 to 1976 and at Augustana College in Rock Island from 1976 to 1983, when he joined the YSU faculty. 

Besides his wife, the former Denise Walters, whom he married Jan. 1, 1983, he leaves his parents of Colorado Springs ; a brother, John M. of Ames , Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Hawkins and Miss Pamela J ., both of Washington D.C.
